Smallmouth Bass fishing is improving as they are moving up from their deeper haunts/ledges. They are primarily taken on crankbaits and dropshot rigs with the occasional fish being caught on top water baits. The smallmouth Bass fishing at Havasu is more prominent than Largemouth in the main Lake Basin. One has to work fairly hard to catch fish this time of year, but in another 2 weeks as the weather warms, spawning action will commence and sight fishing for both types of Bass will start to heat up. BTW don\'t forget your crawfish baits on jigs as well as dropshots. Good fishing!

Current Lunar Fishing Tip:

The affects of the moon on freshwater fish and game are at a minimum right now. There will be a new moon coming up here in a few days. The fisherman should never use this as an excuse to not get on the water. The affects of the moon can only enhance the outcome of a day's fishing not decrease potential catch for today. On days without the new or full moon, all other factors including weather, barometric pressure, wind and cloud cover will make up today's equation for success.
