Pine Flat fishing was tough .The amount of bass tournaments has effected the lake .If you fish the lake a lot you avoid the tournament weekends and times and go several days after one . I caught 7 Dinks mostly plastics and spoons and most of them have hook marks in there mouths from being caught before . Fish are in the 1lb to 2 lb mark . I caught a smallmouth that was caught on a pignjig that was 2.3 lbs . She had eggs .All bass were released . There is a difference in fishing here when there have been no tournaments for a week .It is my opinion the less pressure the better the bite . 2/19/2016

Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Largemouth bass fishing is in full spawn now the water temperature has climbed up to 63 degrees. The large female bass will be on the beds and holding tight. Spawning bass won't be feeding aggressively at this water temperature but they will be catchable. In addition, all bass don't spawn at the exact same time or water temperature. If you aren't a site fisherman, you should be able to find some larger females and male largemouth on the standard spring patterns. Female bass will really start to slow down on feeding so fishing is going to be slower for a few weeks until they move into active patterns again.

Smallmouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The smallmouth bass spawn is in full swing now. Fishing will become slower but won't turn off completely. If you are fishing for female bass go with plastics and really slow your presentation and stay around the spawning beds. You should be able to find some larger females and male bass on the standard spring patterns. Female bass will really start to slow down on feeding and the fishing is going to be slower for a few weeks until they move into active patterns again. Hit the water NOW, we can?t believe you are reading this and not fishing right now. GET OUT!!

Pine Flat Lake Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- I catch them deep at 65 feet in feburary .Most of the time i use live bait as they seldom take artifical lures and jigs . I spent years to find the right spot and they are there every single year for the last 6 years .You can get limits with up to 4lb crappie . Pineflat is not known for its crappie but those that have found out the spot and what to use and technique enjoy haveing this monopoly on the lake . By the way the crappie at pineflat are extremely tasty and clean tasteing .
Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The crappie spawn should be really heating up now. Crappie prefers to spawn on gravel bottom typically with brush and/or emergent vegetation for cover. If the lake is void of gravel bottoms, find the rocks or rip rap. Crappie will use the larger structure rocks for cover. Cast some small grub baits in the shallows looking for the spawning crappie. Good luck today!

Pine Flat Lake Catfish Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- catfish are heating up because I went there may 1st 2010 and caught 12 in 30min.Catfish are spawning this time so you can just go out there and find a spot where there is a lot of vegetation and flat planes under the water.
Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The water temperature is climbing and the catfish will start becoming more active now. The catfish spawn is right around the corner and generally all catfish species will be looking to spawn. Blue catfish, flathead and channel catfish spawn in much the same areas. Mostly spawning in deep tree lay downs that have lots of shade, holes in the bank, sunken barrels and tires. With baitfish becoming active, it?s time to catch some small sunfish, bluegill, shad and frogs and getting the line in the water.

Pine Flat Lake Spotted Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- Spotted bass are mostly caught around March through May and where there are many bait fish. They will often bite around 12 o clock and 3 o clock when it is very sunny. The most used and most affective lures are usually plastic worms and crawdads. To find these fish, look for heavy vegetation or trees.
The average length is 15 inches or more. Identifying them is a little tricky with a largemouth bass.To identify, look for three clues the mouth and the color. The mouth of a largemouth bass goes pass the eye while the mouth of the spotted bass doesn't. Also spotted bass has a tongue patch. The color of a largemouth bass is olive green and has a black line going through the middle of its body. The color of a spotted bass is dark green and has a black line, like the largemouth, going through the middle of its body followed by many spots.

Pine Flat Lake Trout Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- There are trout and kokanee salmon in the lake. The fish do not stay in deep places. They bite on power bait and most of the time the kokanee salmon will eat shad running along the surface on the lake.

Current Lunar Fishing Tip:

The crescent moon will have better gravitational pull than a gibbous or half moon. However the affects of the moons gravitational will be decreased since the sun and moon aren't pulling in conjunction with one another. It's time to pay close attention to the other fishing factors in the weather to make the best decision for hitting the water.
