Obviously having good fishing knowledge will help in catching. There are massive bass in this lake. My personal best in 5 pounds, lost bigger, and have seen friends pull out bigger. 90% of the time I fish from the dock, and usually catch 1 to two fish over 3 hrs on average, sometimes none, but thats fishing. I have a lot of success with watermelon senkos with red fleck, also watermelon fluke, and watermelon red fleck havok pit boss. the are out there for sure.

Lake Howell Largemouth Bass Rating:
2.1
Lake Howell Largemouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Largemouth bass fishing is going to be pretty slow at 92 degree water temperature. Bass will start moving much slower and feeding less aggressively until the water temperature starts to get back down to comfortable levels. When the water temperature is up this high, it's time to get out fishing early and late in the day when the sun is not on the water. When you can get out for the entire day, it's a great time to fish some deeper water. Many large bass are taken this time of year since bass fishermen typically gets out deeper and fish slower with larger baits. Like any other time of year, the slower you fish with bigger baits on the deep drops and river channels, the better chance you have at a lunker. This is a great time to catch a trophy. Good luck out there today!
Lake Howell Crappie Rating:
2.5
Lake Howell Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Your lake crappie will be much more lethargic in the water temperature. They will be in deeper and cooler water. Crappie will be feeding; however they will not be feeding aggressively unless the other fishing factors are at prime levels. Find some moving water that is clear and you should find some more aggressive fishing.
Lake Howell Walleye Rating:
1
Lake Howell Walleye Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Walleye Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With the water temperatures up this high, the walleye will really be moving slow and feeding even slower. It will be extremely difficult to stay on fish and catch good numbers. There will be good days that you can find a good pattern and fill the live well up. The good days of walleye fishing will be fewer and farther between until the water temperature gets back down. Good luck.
Lake Howell Catfish Rating:
2
Lake Howell Catfish Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Catfish will be more active than most other species in the lake. However they will be feeding much slower due to the lake having less oxygen and less healthy than when the water temperature is a little cooler. Donít throw in the towel, your monster catfish may be waiting for you. As always the best time to go fishing is every time you can go fishing. Good luck!

- Weeds near the docks make either a top water lure or Texas like rigs ideal. Wacky
rigs have been successful past the weeds.
Spotted Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):

Current Lunar Fishing Tip:

The affects of the moon on freshwater fish and game are at a minimum right now. There will be another full moon coming up here in a few days. The fisherman should never use this as an excuse to not get on the water. The affects of the moon can only enhance the outcome of a day's fishing not decrease potential catch for today. On days without the new or full moon, all other factors including weather, barometric pressure, wind and cloud cover will make up today's equation for success.
