Species: Striped Bass
Fishing Rating: 1
Water Temperature: 75
Striper fishing on Lake Lanier is picking up from previous weeks. The water is starting to stabilize after these heavy rains. We have been doing well on Flat-lines throughout the day, catching a nice variety of Stipers and Spotted Bass. Fishing has been consistent the entire day. Mornings and afternoons have been producing. There is also a good top-water bite. Lures that are working for us are magic swimmers, sammies and mc sticks. Look for the fish surfacing in the middle of the channel or around points. Stripers have been difficult to mark. They are actively moving. Find the bait and find the fish. In the next couple of weeks the typical summer time pattern will be upon us. Fish will be moving out of the creeks and deeper. Some of the best fishing on Lanier will happen in the next couple of months. Morning and afternoon trips are available. We have a couple of open dates left in June. Call me at 678-634-3408 for rates and availability. Get hooked up! These fish were caught on a half-day 5/29/13. See you on the water

Fishing Rating: 1
Water Temperature: 85
Fishing is very good right now. The fish are in the river channel and creeks mouths from the Browns Bridge to the damn. Trolling lead core 7 to 9 colors out with a 1oz jigs is a great way to catch some fish and find schools to drop a live herring on a down rod.

Lanier Lake Largemouth Bass Rating:
4.5
Lanier Lake Largemouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Largemouth bass fishing is going to be pretty slow at 87 degree water temperature. Bass will start moving much slower and feeding less aggressively until the water temperature starts to get back down to comfortable levels. When the water temperature is up this high, it's time to get out fishing early and late in the day when the sun is not on the water. When you can get out for the entire day, it's a great time to fish some deeper water. Many large bass are taken this time of year since bass fishermen typically gets out deeper and fish slower with larger baits. Like any other time of year, the slower you fish with bigger baits on the deep drops and river channels, the better chance you have at a lunker. This is a great time to catch a trophy. Good luck out there today!
Lanier Lake Crappie Rating:

Lanier Lake Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Your lake crappie will be much more lethargic in the water temperature. They will be in deeper and cooler water. Crappie will be feeding; however they will not be feeding aggressively unless the other fishing factors are at prime levels. Find some moving water that is clear and you should find some more aggressive fishing.
Lanier Lake Walleye Rating:

Lanier Lake Walleye Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Walleye Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With the water temperatures up this high, the walleye will really be moving slow and feeding even slower. It will be extremely difficult to stay on fish and catch good numbers. There will be good days that you can find a good pattern and fill the live well up. The good days of walleye fishing will be fewer and farther between until the water temperature gets back down. Good luck.
Lanier Lake Catfish Rating:

Lanier Lake Catfish Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Unlike most North American fish species, blue catfish, flathead and channel catfish are comfortable when the water temperature is this high. They will be feeding and moving in typical patterns. You will start having a little better luck if you can get to some moving water that is adding a little more oxygen for the baitfish and the catfish will be there also.
Lanier Lake Spotted Bass Rating:

Lanier Lake Spotted Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Spotted Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Spotted bass fishing is going to be pretty slow at this water temperature. Current Lunar Fishing Tip:

The affects of the moon on freshwater fish and game are at a minimum right now. There will be another full moon coming up here in a few days. The fisherman should never use this as an excuse to not get on the water. The affects of the moon can only enhance the outcome of a day's fishing not decrease potential catch for today. On days without the new or full moon, all other factors including weather, barometric pressure, wind and cloud cover will make up today's equation for success.
