Tried with several setups; wedding ring with jack lloyd baited with corn, green squid, several little fish baits, salmon eggs, and kokanee killers. not a single bite. Didnt see any other fishers pulling anything out either. I was doing low budget canoe trolling at several depths up to 120\' from wolf lodge bay, beauty bay, blue creek bay and down the main stretch. As the sun was setting, we saw probably a hundred as they were jumping, coming up to the surface, you could see their bellies flashing in the fading sunlight. Still not a bite. A couple lines up toward the surface, we were hoping to just hook one randomly as we were going back to dock. Skunked, but at least we didnt see other fishers pulling in fish after fish to add to the insult. October 1 2012 10am-7pm

10-27-2011 While fishing for Chinook Salmon in Wolf Lodge Bay is slow, I caught 13 Kokanee at 30' useing the traditional red wedding ring in front of a 3 blade Jack Lloyd set-up all on a down rigger. I was also set-up with a green dodger and mini squid at 80' for the Chinook. Chinooks were not hitting on this but a few of the Kokanee did.

Fishing for Pike is slow. Find shallow weedy areas were smaller bait fish are found. Fish a depth about 3-10 foot. This should turn up a pike or two. Fish slow using suspending rapala type baits. Buck tail spinners seem effective now.
Current Lunar Fishing Tip:
The affects of the moon on freshwater fish and game are at a minimum right now. There will be a new moon coming up here in a few days. The fisherman should never use this as an excuse to not get on the water. The affects of the moon can only enhance the outcome of a day's fishing not decrease potential catch for today. On days without the new or full moon, all other factors including weather, barometric pressure, wind and cloud cover will make up today's equation for success.
