Lake Lou Yaeger Largemouth Bass Rating:
3.5
Lake Lou Yaeger Largemouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With Lake Lou Yaeger at 54 degree water temperature largemouth bass fishing is getting ready to ramp up. The male bass will start moving up from deep water toward spawning coves and the big ones are right behind them. This is a great time to get out on the water and try hitting some deeper primary and secondary points. The female bass will start feeding at this water temperature in preparation for spawn. The male bass may be up shallow especially on sunny afternoons. Fishing sunny spawning grounds that are receiving the warm spring time sun is a great way to get a few largemouth bass in the boat.

Smallmouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With the water temperature at 54 degrees smallmouth bass fishing is ready to heat up for spring. The bass will be starting to move into their spawning area. Smallmouth bass will generally spawn on rock and gravel bottoms that are protected from the elements. It's time to get fishing and look for staging bass in deeper water.
Lake Lou Yaeger Crappie Rating:

Lake Lou Yaeger Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Crappie should be getting ready to spawn. Stay out in deeper water and look for schools. Schooling shad will be harder to find with this water temperature so when you find it, stay on it. Crappie schools will be breaking up quite a bit getting ready for the spawn. Also try fishing shallower with small crank baits and spinners on the warm banks with direct sunlight. This is a great time to be on the water.
Lake Lou Yaeger Walleye Rating:
4.5
Lake Lou Yaeger Walleye Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Walleye Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The walleye are coming off of the spawn now. Fish will be feeding very more aggressive making up for lost time eating during the spawn. Walleye will start moving back to their typical structure of choice and should be getting into the lake flats and deep structure. It?s time to hit the water. This may be the best water temperature to be on the water. There shouldn?t be too many fishermen on the water this early and there are many species that are hitting their prime water temperatures to be biting very well. Have fun today!
Lake Lou Yaeger Catfish Rating:

Lake Lou Yaeger Catfish Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- Channel Catfish and Blue Catfish (if they exist in the lake) are actively
feeding in the shallow coves on dead shad especially during warm sunny days. Try
using shad guts and smelly dough baits. If you do not like the smelly baits,
night crawler worms will work too, because the spring rains often wash them into
the lake and catfish are feeding on them too. On cold days, the fish sometimes
retreat to deeper water. Flathead Catfish are just starting to wake up too. Some
of the biggest fish can be caught on live Bluegills in shallow coves at night
especially in coves close to their deep water wintering holes. Spring rains
means flowing water and catfish take full advantage of this during this time of
the year. Look for catfish to stack up at the mouth of the creeks as they flow
into the lake. The water from the shallow creeks tends to be warmer and also the
flowing water brings food from the creeks to the catfish. Try night crawler or
fresh cut shad or Bluegill for bait for best results. Try fishing both on the
bottom and with floats for fast action.
Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they arenít going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.
