I fish here often and the Bass and bluegills are almost non existent. I have found gizzard shad and crappie to be abundant and some smallmouth bass in the river if you can get there at the right time. Catfish are also abundant but not any size at least good eaters that is, no walleye that I have ever seen have come form this lake maybe 20 years ago but none of recent times.

Water is VERY murky. Can\'t see the bottom of the live well at this point. Levels are still very low but should be coming up any day now. Some branches and limbs are floating about but no major logs yet. That, too, should be here any day. Crappy are hitting on active baits at 1\'-2\' deep. A week ago they could be found deeper but the water clarity is making that all but impossible now. Bass are getting active and are to be found shallow.

Caught (36) crappie between the two of us. Bobber was set at 9 feet, using minnows. Fish are post spawn, and gradually moving to deeper water. Water is full of loose timber and logs, so be on the lookout. Happy Fishing!

Current Lunar Fishing Tip:

New Moon fishing can be at its best. The gravitational pull on the earth is at its peak when the moon and sun are rising and setting at the same time of day. This combination can generate extraordinary fishing opportunities especially if combined with perfect weather variances. The new moon may have the fish extremely aggressive and actively hunting for food. Try fishing a little faster today and with several different baits and techniques. When fish are more aggressive, its always fun to fish a little more aggressive. Watch the peak fishing times and make sure you are on the water during that part of the day to take full advantage of today?s solar/lunar peaks. Have a great day!
