Belleville Lake Largemouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
Largemouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With Belleville Lake at 47 degree water temperature this is a great time to get out on the water and try hitting some deeper primary and secondary points. Largemouth bass will be feeding at this water temperature but will be much harder to catch. On Sunny warm afternoons its a great time to throw a crank bait, jigs or slow roll a spinnerbait at 5-10 foot on sunny points and drops off of sunny flats. Largemouth Bass will move into warm water on warm sunny days.
Belleville Lake Smallmouth Bass Rating:

Smallmouth Bass Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
Smallmouth bass fishing is going to be slow with the water temperature at 47 degrees. It's time to fish deep and slow. Try some deep primary points, drop offs, and old river channels with rocks. Jigs, plastics and deep jerk baits will be your best bet to boat a smallmouth.

Belleville Lake Crappie Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- When water tempatures reach 50-60 degrees crappie fishing will be at its best for the year. The second week of April usually is a good time to head out and see if the spawn has started in the shallows. This lake is plentiful with black and white crappie. The docs at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial is the best place to fish on the lake if your a shore fisherman. Lure that always works is called "PANFISH ASSASIGN" , or any shad minnow imatation will work. Colors that have always worked are blue, black, white, green&red. You can find this lure at a bait shop called "BOTTOM LINE" located in Rockwood,MI. Using this on a jig head and casting 10ft out and dragging back to the bank always works great , you'll hit your limit of 25 crappie usually in 2 hours. I've crappie fished Belleville Lake for about 15 years I've used just about everything... trust me it's worth the drive to go pick up a pack of "PAN FISH ASSASIGNS" you'll never use live bait again!
Average size you"ll catch is 7-10 inches.

Crappie Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
With the Water Temperature at 47 Prime Crappie fishing is in full swing. Crappies should be migrating to their spawning areas now. They?ll either be up in the final spawning area now or at tributary entrances. Concentrate around 15 feet of water. Fish Primary points at the mouth of the creek arms. Fish Targets at this point instead of focusing on bait fish. Fish trees, shrubs, vegetation, etc. Fishing correctly this time of year will get you snagged quite a bit since you need to focus on making and keeping contact with the cover.

Walleye will be staging and getting ready to spawn now. With Walleye spawning grounds generally on gravel and rocky bottoms and preferring clean water. Start looking for pre-spawn fish in deeper waters with easy access to shallow clean water rocky bottoms. Walleye should be feeding aggressively right up until they start laying eggs. This is a perfect time to be fishing for Walleye.

- No Blues here, jury out on whether there are Flatheads, but it IS Channel Cat heaven.
Catfish Tips for Current Conditions (automated):
The catfish family comprises of blue catfish, flathead catfish and channel catfish. Since catfish are warm water fish, they arenít going to be very active in this water temperature. They will still be feeding, but catfish will only be found very deep and feeding very slowly. Your best bet is give some of the more active fish species in your lake a shot until the cats are active again.

Current Lunar Fishing Tip:

The crescent moon will have better gravitational pull than a gibbous or half moon. However the affects of the moons gravitational will be decreased since the sun and moon aren't pulling in conjunction with one another. It's time to pay close attention to the other fishing factors in the weather to make the best decision for hitting the water.
