Species: Crappie
Fishing Rating: 4
Water Temperature:
I have been on the lake 10 times in the last 2 weeks and the crappie are biting pretty good. We have pulled in 200 keepers in 10 days on top of one brush pile. If you can get on top of the brush in about 12 feet of water you should catch 15-20 keepers in a 3hr period on live bait. Good luck.

Joe Pool Lake Largemouth Bass Tips: [ Add Tip ]
- Go to the TPWD TX site for current fishing reports at Joe Pool Lake. Best bet is to ask fisherman hanging round at the Marina (Lynn Creek) for some feedback. Don't bother asking the Marina staff many on the night shift are very grouchy. Some longtime employees have lost their sense of courtesy when asked about fishing tips. The fisherman getting ready to go out are the best source.

The water temperature is climbing and the catfish will start becoming more active now. The catfish spawn is right around the corner and generally all catfish species will be looking to spawn. With baitfish becoming active, it?s time to catch some small sunfish, bluegill, shad and frogs and getting the line in the water.

Current Lunar Fishing Tip:

The affects of the moon on freshwater fish and game are at a minimum right now. There will be a new moon coming up here in a few days. The fisherman should never use this as an excuse to not get on the water. The affects of the moon can only enhance the outcome of a day's fishing not decrease potential catch for today. On days without the new or full moon, all other factors including weather, barometric pressure, wind and cloud cover will make up today's equation for success.
